If think its a little harsh you can't go to some if you had tattoos because usually Yakuza members have them i'd be pretty insulted if i get tattoos and i got denied.

My husband recently went to Japan for business and they took him to the hot springs up at mt fuji. His skin was so soft when became home and his back that usually is feral and bumpy was silky smooth!

No, there's no need for a special occasion. Some people go to onsen everyday it's just part of your day, a way to get cleaned up & relax. Usually, they use the public area (¥500 or so) to scrub up & then soak. What I showed in the video isn't typical, it's reserved for families or those that want a little more privacy. :)

Never too late to learn, its pricey to go over but you could teach English there.. not sure how much it would be just to teach I mean travel and living expenses.
Ive never been to Japan but I met Japanese students in the UK, I also have Japanese friends on Facebook, they're amazing beautiful and polite people .. I just hate it when people just go there for the Anime/gaming culture, theres so much to see

For that particular private room, does it cost per hour? Is it expensive? Its very beautiful and I was wondering, if I were to rent a private Onsen room such as the one you visited how much it would cost and how long I could stay. Thank you Emmy!

They do in Hot Springs, Arkansas. A lot of movie stars and gangsters used to go there a long time ago. There is a bar called Capones that has amazing cheese dip, it was a popular hang out of Al Capone's and there are bullet holes still in the ceilings from gun fights. There is tons of things to do in Hot Springs along with the bath houses :)

Sort of; you push the buttons for what you want (spray of water, dryer, etc.) otherwise it's like any other toilet. Well, besides the heated toilet seat - that's usually always on - especially in the winter. :)

In Argentina we got a "videt" right next to the toilette, it's not automatic, but it's purpose is... cleaning your bum XDD It's THE ONE thing Argentinians miss most when traveling, it's basic

It's true, some onsens don't allow tattoos. Japan's a different culture and tattoos have a different meaning. :)

Japan is amazing and I loved everything about it. When I went, I travelled to a small place called Hakone where I tried onsens for the first time. It's amazing.. Sort of like a hot tub but 100 times better and everyone's naked LOL.

Yep, ours' went for ¥3,000 for 90 mins. Ordinarily, you pay anywhere from ¥500-¥1,000 to use the public facilities & baths.
